In Memoriam:  David Grossman, one of the founders of the Prize

​

David A. “Dave” Grossman had extensive experience as a planner and director of various governmental programs on a federal, state, and local level, with an emphasis on urban renewal and city planning. Dave was the Director of the Budget of the City of New York during the administration of Mayor John V. Lindsay. He was initially hired by Fred Hayes to join the City’s Budget Bureau. They had worked together in the Office of Economic Opportunity (War on Poverty) in Washington DC.

Dave later served as a budget and policy consultant for public and non-profit agencies in New York and developing countries around the world.
